Why is the electromagnetic flowmeter preferred in large-caliber water flow measurements?

Electromagnetic flowmeter plays an extremely important role in the measurement of large diameter water flow because of the following characteristics of the instrument.a.No moving parts, high reliability, long-term stability
b.No additional resistance. This is especially important for large diameter flow meters.
c.The accuracy of measurement is high.When typical products are v=1m/s, the accuracy can reach ±0.3%R or even ±0.2%R. 
d.The range is wide.The range of accuracy is guaranteed to be 40:1 and the measurable range is 200:1.
e.Straight pipe requirements are relatively low. This is also important for large diameter pipes. There are a variety of flowmeters that require a straight pipe length of 30D. For pipes with a pipe diameter of 1 m or more, it means that a straight pipe section of 30 m or more is necessary, which is difficult to satisfy in most cases.
f.There are large diameter products. The largest domestic DN3000 product is available to meet the needs of large-caliber water flow measurement.
g.The variety is complete. There are anti-flooding type ip67 products and anti-continuous flooding type ip68 products. 
h.The disadvantage is that the price of large-caliber products is high, and the larger the caliber the faster the price increases. Despite this, like water plants,they are willing to spend more money on electromagnetic flowmeters because of trade settlement and high accuracy requirements.
